As many of you may know Canada Post is currently on strike affecting our ability to ship and deliver packages across Canada. We are navigating the situation with care and closely monitoring Canada Post to ensure accurate updates as this affects us all. We highly encourage you to take this opportunity to support any and all small, local business within your area! Connect with shop owners and use this as an opportunity to show up for your community. While shipping is a HUGE part of our operations at Alchemy, nothing compares to engaging with customers face to face and actually getting to know each and every one of you. We will be using alternative shipping services in the mean time but please be patient, expect delays and take advantage of our local delivery option if you live in Northern BC, particularly in the Terrace or Kitimat region.
An Update From the Canada Post Website:
As of November 15, 2024; The CUPW announces national strike that will cause service delays for Canadians. The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has announced it intends to begin a national strike on Friday, November 15 at 12:01 a.m. ET. Canada Post’s operations will shut down during a national strike, affecting millions of Canadians and businesses across the country.
Customers should expect delays: Canada Post customers will experience delays due to the strike activity. Mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered for the duration of the national strike, and some post offices will be closed. Service guarantees will be impacted for items already in the postal network. No new items will be accepted until the national disruption is over.
Items will be delivered as quickly as possible once operations resume: All mail and parcels in the postal network will be secured and delivered as quickly as possible on a first-in, first-out basis once operations resume. However, a national strike of any length will impact service to Canadians well after the strike activity ends. Shutting down facilities across the country will affect Canada Post’s entire national network. Processing and delivery may take some time to fully return to normal.
